| Description: | Aytur Eftalia Information
The thing that sets Aytur Eftalia apart is its location. Just footsteps across the road is a private beach where you’ll find plenty of loungers and watersports. And only a 20 minute walk away is the centre of Alanya, with its historic old town and café-lined streets. The complex itself is split into three buildings, with a swimming pool at the heart of it all. There’s a children’s pool, too, and the pool bar’s nearby so you can relax in the shade while watching them splash around. Elsewhere, you’ll find a restaurant serving a Continental buffet breakfast, and international dishes in the evening including pasta and a range of meats and cheeses. For local specialities like lahmacun – a Turkish pizza - and kebabs, head to the à la carte restaurant. Other highlights on the dining front include live cooking stations and weekly barbecue nights. In terms of your own private space, rooms are basic but comfy. White dominates the colour scheme, with wooden furniture and terracotta floor tiles completing the scene. Every room has a balcony, too. Aytur Eftalia Location View Aytur Eftalia, Antalya in a larger map Alanya Information Although today a modern working town, Alanya remains notable for having been given as a gift to Cleopatra by Mark Antony in 44BC. Centred on a small fishing harbour, it now extends 1 ml or so along the coast in both directions yet retains considerably more character than the purpose-built resorts elsewhere in this region. Here you have the chance to mix with Turkish people some of whom can be seen wearing traditional clothing as they visit from the countryside. A pleasant harbourside promenade is backed by busy bazaars, bars and eateries. Unfortunately, the main east to west highway runs through the length of the resort, a source of constant irritation, noise and risk with its 24-hr traffic. Palm trees and flower beds line this road and other main streets and with numerous parks, many areas of the resort remain relatively quiet. Soaring almost vertically upwards from the harbour is a tree-covered rocky headland crowned by medieval castle walls – mainly intact – within which are the remains of 12th-century buildings, as well as a small hotel, many small shops, stalls and snack bars. |
