Located to the south of Cuba, and in the heart of the Caribbean, Jamaica is best known for its 200 miles of white sand. But, spectacular though they are, there’s more to holidaying on this island nation than beaches.

Stroll around the history-drenched streets of the former capital Spanish Town, or go hiking in the Blue Mountains, home to hundreds of bird and plant species and world-famous coffee plantations. Hire a bamboo raft and ride the Rio Grande, or visit the astonishing labyrinth of limestone caves on the north coast. Or how about a trip to Nine Mile where Bob Marley was born and is now buried?

But it is of course the beaches that draw so many sun-seeking holidaymakers here each year, from the dazzling bleached sands of Montego Bay and Doctor’s Cave Beach to Negril’s spectacular seven miles.
