City Breaks in Hong Kong

For sheer pulse-racing excitement, few places on earth match the glamour, glitz or pace of Hong Kong. Hong Kong has absorbed influences from places as diverse as Vietnam and Vancouver, and is the ideal stopover for Australia or other Asian destinations.
There are seven million inhabitants, and the iconic skyline is intensely urban, but it is also surprisingly easy to find pockets of wilderness. There are mist-shrouded mountains, protected countryside and rocky islands as well as glittering buildings and the crowded waters of Victoria Harbour. Hong Kong is a place of constant surprises!
Much of Hong Kong’s urban development is concentrated on the northern shore of Hong Kong island. While not the largest part of the territory, this island is where you are likely to focus your visit.
In the area called Central, you’ll find many official buildings, including Government House. For the best views, take the famous Peak Tram from Central to the top of Victoria Peak, one of Hong Kong’s most exclusive neighbourhoods. A short stroll takes you to some truly spectacular views. On the way up, pass through hip Soho and the residential area of Mid-Levels.
