Albufeira offers the best of all worlds. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in town, and a lively nightlife. Alternatively, you can get away from it all in Montechoro just 1.5km away or head into Praia d’Oura for more bustle. Nearby Quinta da Balaia is also popular with shoppers and those seeking a quiet drink or meal in the daytime. After sundown the town has a busy nightlife.

Praia da Rocha

Praia da Rocha is located just to the south of the city of Portimao in the Algarve region of Portugal. With an average of 3000 hours of sunshine a year, the Algarve is a popular destination, especially for beach holidays.

Praia da Rocha is the best-known and also the longest-established resort in the Algarve. It boasts 2km of beaches backed by cliffs eroded into exotic shapes by wind and sea. The promenade leads to the fortress of Fortaleza de Catarina and there is a casino close to the beach.
