Santo Tomas is located on the Spanish island of Menorca, about 25km from the airport and from the small towns of Mahon and Ciudadela. The resort is known for its peaceful atmosphere. It is a popular destination for families and will appeal to anyone seeking relaxation on the sandy beaches amid the unspoiled landscape inland.

The resort is very child-friendly and safe, and tends not to attract the rowdier elements. It is popular with visitors from Spain and elsewhere in Menorca as well as overseas tourists. There is very little noise or anti-social behaviour.

Car hire is available, and may be necessary depending upon the location of the accommodation chosen. A hire car also allows the rest of the island to be visited. It is worth driving to the top of El Toro to enjoy the view of the island. There is also a local bus service to the nearby towns, which leaves early in the morning.

Santo Tomas is rather expensive. The shops and local supermarkets in particular are very overpriced.

A range of accommodation is available, including villas, apartments and hotels. Some apartments are some distance (a little over a kilometre) from the beach. Accommodation tends to be clean, comfortable and staffed by friendly and helpful people. Self-catering accommodation is available if desired.

Not all hotels and apartments have air conditioning, though ceiling fans are common.

Santo Tomas has a range of places to eat out, with some very good restaurants known for their friendly service. The food is somewhat varied however. Some places are excellent while other visitors find the choice very limited.

Santo Tomas offers a range of activities including rifle shooting, tennis and mini-golf plus the obvious attractions of the nearby beaches. Many of the hotels have their own private swimming pool. Many are unheated, but this is not a problem in such a warm climate. Other water-based activated include water polo and pool aerobics.

The excellent beaches are obviously a major attraction. Beach sunbeds and umbrellas are expensive to hire, however. For children, there are kids' clubs which include both indoor and outdoor activities, and there are playgrounds in various areas, many of them close to the beach.

For those who just have to go shopping, the resort boasts an increasing number of small shops to explore in addition to larger supermarkets. Out-of-town supermarkets are better value for those who have hired a car.

Santo Tomas is a quiet and relaxing resort rather than a centre for night-life. There is entertainment available at some of the hotels, and a good selection of places to enjoy a meal or a quiet drink, but overall the night life is very sedate.
