Lanzarote or the island of 100 volcanoes is part of the Canari Islands and is situation near to the African coast. If you are looking for great weather then this is a destination well worth considering as the climate is generally dry with very little rain. Average temperature in January is 17c rising up to 24c in July and August so expect warm days and lots of sun.

http://www.submarinesafaris.com/ - Not an experience to be missed. Built at a cost of 3.5 million US dollars the Sub Fun Tres will introduce you to ocean around the island. A state of the art tourist submarine designed specifically to carry 48 passengers will take you out for around an hour.

Beaches

There is a large selection of beaches available throughout the island however you may want to visit Papagaya to the south of the Island. A fantastic white beach that is a must if you want the best the island has to offer. Excellent surfing conditions can be found at Famara if you want to try something a little different. Travel to Orsola where there are a number of white sandy beaches if you are looking for something a bit more secluded . Interested in wind surfing? Food

Mediterranean in style with a preference for fresh ingredients and of course lots of seafood. Fish is part of the staple diet and you will find many sea food restaurants serving up a multitude of dishes.

Shopping

The Canary Islands enjoy a special Duty Free Tax status so cigarettes,alcohol and perfumes are much cheaper than on many other holidays. Duty free goods are usually cheaper in the resorts than in the airport so you may want to do your duty free shopping on the island.
