Holidays in Magaluf
Spain Main Guide | Majorca Main Guide
Majorca's Magaluf beach resort is one of the oldest resorts in Majorca and still remains ever popular with visitors to the Balearic Islands. Situated in the liveliest part of Majorca, a mere ten miles west of Palma and 15 miles from the airport, the bustling resort of Magaluf is one of the largest and most popular on the island, offering wonderful long white beaches, a wealth of entertainment and an exhausting nightlife.
Much has been done to improve Magaluf over recent years with some of the 60s apartment blocks being demolished and a new palm-lined promenade being created. It is, however, still very much a party town popular with 18 to 30s looking for sun, sand and the odd San Miguel. Quieter areas can be found on the outskirts of Magaluf, in the suburb of Torrenova and in neighboring Palma Nova. High-rise hotels and apartment blocks line an impressive sandy beach, with bars, restaurants and discos - often bursting with British tourists - tucked underneath and round about.
Magaluf is at its most popular between June and September. In the winter months, however, many of the livelier nightspots close down and the hotels market themselves to an older crowd.
