South eastern Cyprus's Ayia Napa has become a Mecca for the 250,000 serious clubbers who come pleasure-seeking each summer, creating an electric atmosphere.
You'll also find everything you'd expect from a modern resort in Ayia Napa a good range of accommodation, and plenty of great places to eat out and shop for bargains. Ayia Napa's beaches really are wonderful, too, and very varied, from larger and more popular sandy stretches to secluded coves.
Nightlife in Ayia Napa is well known for being explosive and diverse, with countless bars, every kind of disco you can think of and bouzouki clubs galore. Dancing until daybreak is the norm, so factor in that siesta into your holiday routine you'll need it!
But there's more to the area than all-night partying. The town's sixteenth century ruined monastery is a must-see for anyone visiting the area. With its famous octagonal fountain and courtyard, it's easy to see why it's a popular wedding venue.
You could also head out to sea on one of the many day trips and cruises on offer locally, or, just 10 minutes away, Cape Greco has myriad opportunities for water sports, cliff diving. Check out the historic lighthouse!
It may still be a magnet for party people, but Ayia Napa is probably far more family-friendly now than it used to be. Equally, if you're able to visit later on in the season, you'll find things far more chilled, as well as a good deal cheaper!
